Day 3: Going Around in Valparai - Bike Ride

4th December 2014
It was 5 am. Alarm went off. Yes, snoozed.
Got up at 7:20 am.
Went down for a tea. Came back, was lazy. Sun was already up. Again missed the sun rise. Cannot waste my time. Set the time to step out at 8 am.
Took a cold water bath. Was soo good 🙂
Dressed up, packed and stepped out at 8:02 am. Left my backpack in the reception and set off with only my camera bag. No riding gear today :D.
Need to plan the day. Am in Valparai and did not know where to go to. This banner came in handy. Took a picture of it. This was my guide for  the day.

Mudis area:

Mudis was a good start, the longest spot in this route was 16 km away. Google map did not have these place. Had to go the traditional way. Stop and ask. Easy.
Started to ask for Birla water falls, no one knew where it was. Crossed more than 6 km, no sign of a water falls :(. People did not believe me there is a Birla water falls in Valparai 🙁
Every time had to refer to this image and ask for the next location and I had already crossed Sidhi Vinagagar temple and did not notice it 🙁
I was heading to number paarai (Number rock). It was a long ride and the road (Ahem), was not existing after a few kilometers. Ride till then was a very pleasant one.

Here is my Tripod set-up with my Monopod for longer exposure 😀

Road was getting narrow and I was riding inside tea plantations after a point. It was a 4 wheel track.

Route to number parai

After a few kilometers in, the 4 wheel track became a 2 wheel track, or a walking path. I lost hope of finding this place and turned back.

Why not go further on the walking path. So I did. Few meters in, I found package covers, ripped of shoe sole. This was sign of people been here. A empty beer bottle confirmed this was some not easy to reach tourist place 🙂

I was not sure if this was number paarai. But I can calling it Number paarai. I did not do all this to land in a wrong place. Only person to convince this is Number parai was myself and I was totally convinced 😀
View was just awesome. This is a suicide point. All alone, enjoyed this place. Took some pictures. And a selfie (If I can call it).
